What’s Happening in Las Vegas This August

Shae White • August 3, 2026

August is bringing plenty of reasons to get out and explore Las Vegas, from luxurious staycations and new nightlife spots to pasta-making classes, pet-friendly events, and a very Star Trek-worthy evening. Here are a few things worth adding to your calendar this month!

Vanderpump at the Flamingo

Looking for a little luxury without leaving the Strip? We recently stayed at Vanderpump at the Flamingo and had the perfect Vegas getaway. From the beautiful room to dinner and drinks at Pinky’s by Vanderpump, everything felt luxurious, romantic, and just a little extra—in the best way. The food and cocktails were amazing, the service was fantastic, and they even offer turn-down service!

The Vinyl Room Opens at Mandalay Bay — August 8

Calling all music lovers! The Vinyl Room is opening on the top floor of Mandalay Bay on August 8, bringing together DJs, live concerts, vinyl records, and bold Asian-inspired food. It sounds like the perfect spot for a night out with great music, good food, and a unique atmosphere. Reservations are available through their website, so snag a table and check out one of Vegas’ newest spots.

5th Annual Pour for Paws — August 23

Wine, craft beer, shopping, dancing, and pet adoptions? We’re in. The 5th Annual Pour for Paws is happening August 23, and this year’s theme is a tropical luau! Guests can enjoy wine and craft beer while browsing vendors, dancing, and supporting local animals. There will also be swag bags, raffle tickets, a silent auction, and more.

Tickets are available on Eventbrite. Grab your tickets and get ready to sip, shop, and support a great cause!

Pasta Making with Chef Emmanuelle — August 15

Trade your usual Friday night plans for a little hands-on cooking! On August 15, join Chef Emmanuelle for a two-hour pasta-making cooking class hosted at a local Las Vegas brewery. You’ll get step-by-step guidance, learn how to make pasta from scratch, and finish with a full meal you can actually sit down and enjoy. The class is beginner-friendly, so no need to be a professional chef—or even particularly good in the kitchen. Just bring your appetite! Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

Cosmic Cocktails at AREA15 — August 8

Beam yourself over to AREA15 on August 8 for Cosmic Cocktails, a sci-fi-themed event celebrating STEAM education during the Las Vegas Star Trek Convention. Hosted by Strange New Pod’s Giraffe and The Astro Society’s Amy Imhoff, the evening will feature cosmic cocktails, charcuterie, dessert, and plenty of space-themed fun.

Each ticket includes two free drink tickets, charcuterie and dessert, space swag, and a chance to enter a raffle featuring prizes donated by favorite creatives. Whether you’re a lifelong Trekkie or just here for the cocktails and snacks, this one is definitely out of this world.

Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
