In today’s times, I feel businesses need to support and help those that give so much to others. That is why McKenna Property Management created…. McKenna Cares.
Our Mission at McKenna Cares is to reach out to those selfless individuals and give a helping hand. We are always actively looking for those special people that give so much of themselves and at times need just a little help and a pat on the back.
Recently we were able to assist a couple, Yolanda and Ross. They have three kids of their own and recently adopted 2 more autistic children. Their first adopted child Michael, who is now 23 has Cri-du-chat syndrome. The disorder is caused by a damaged chromosome 5. The result is difficulty eating, gaining weight, maintaining focus and communicating. Their 2nd adopted son Brandon, 21 years old, has down syndrome and has not spoken a word since he was a small child.
In order to meet the needs of his 2 adopted children and the rest of the family, Ross, the father, has given up his job to be a full time care giver. Hearing Ross and Yolanda’s story gave McKenna Cares a chance to help. We wanted to lighten the burden in any way we could. Ross and Yolanda were given a small break when we surprised them with dinner and helped with a few things around the home. We were extremely happy to give back to someone who has given so much of themselves.
Thank you Ross and Yolanda for being such role models.
There are over 400,000 children in Foster Care in the United States alone.
